Melanocortin-Independent Anti-Inflammation

Anti-inflammatory action reported not to run through the melanocortin receptors, even where the compound is a fragment of a melanocortin hormone. The described effects are on inflammatory signalling inside the cell, including reduced NF-kB activity and lower output of inflammatory cytokines.
