Timing

Last updated

Where a dose falls in the day and what else is happening around it: before or after food, before sleep, around training. Timing does not change the amount taken; it changes what the body is doing when the compound arrives. Some timing rules trace back to a measured interaction, while many are convention passed from user to user.

Why it matters here

For a small number of compounds, food genuinely alters absorption or blunts the response, which makes timing part of what the study measured rather than an optional detail. For most, the timing advice in circulation has no record behind it, and the honest position is that the alternative was never tested.

What it is not

Fasted does not simply mean before breakfast. It refers to a stretch with no food long enough for the relevant response to settle back down, and a small snack shortly beforehand can break it even though the meal was technically skipped.

Also called

Pre-bed, fasted and post-workout come from bodybuilding and supplement culture, where dose timing is treated as a major variable. That emphasis carried over to peptides regardless of whether it applies to any of them.

Compounds carrying this term

None on file yet. This term is in the controlled vocabulary but no compound record currently uses it — which is a statement about our coverage, not about the term.
